Personality

In Thomas and Friends, Ned is very kind, but he can be described as "dopey". Despite all this, he puts in as much effort as possible every time he's called to action.

Biography

Ned works for the Sodor Construction Company and helps clear rubble and do some digging. His clumsiness gets him into trouble from time to time, he once knocked over a keystone on a bridge that nearly caused a serious accident for Thomas until Jack held the bridge up. His clumsiness ended up paying off as he demolished a massive building on accident that the Sodor Construction Company couldn't destroy, even with wrecking balls.

Model & TVS Background

In Thomas and Friends, Ned's model was created right before the start of season 6. His model was mostly made of plastic with a brass funnel and chassis, this led to a much lighter model than if they used all brass. 2 Servos were used to control up, down, and side to side eye movements.

Ned would debut in the season 6 episode in "Jack Jumps In", he would not make a speaking role until the episode "A Friend in Need". He would make minor appearances and roles, most of them coming in the Jack and the Pack spin-off series. He made his last appearance in the movie special "The Great Discovery". He has not appeared or been referenced since.
