1998, Plarail

This first release of Oliver was released in 1998. He came with 2 red branch line coaches. Powered by a double A battery he runs well on Trackmaster and TOMY tracks.

His design was very unique due to the side rods not being attached to a drive wheel, and his battery being notoriously tedious to put inside. 

This release was exclusive to non NA regions, making him sought after there.

2008, TOMY

This release of Oliver was the exact same as prior releases, it was just a EU exclusive.
